Self Study 1

For the first self-study module, we had to learn the basics of blender. In the first part of the tutorial, we had to create a barrel using blender but because this was my first time using a 3d modeler I was only able to complete it to the Texturing part where I got stuck. We were asked to follow brackleys blender tutorial but the blender version he was using was an old one and the one I was using was the latest version so this created difficulty in following the tutorial. The link to his youtube page is https://www.youtube.com/user/Brackeys. He has many tutorials where are really fun to follow as long as you are using the right version of the Software.

This was where I reached in the barrel development part of the Self Study module.

For the second part of the self-study module, we had to model an object that we might find in a specific tourist attraction in Tasmania. For this activity, I chose to create a swing that I found in Runnymede St. Battery point. There is a nice area in the street with benches and right in the middle was the swing. The hardest part of this swing was creating the chain where I followed a youtube video on Chain Video Blender

For being a beginner I was pretty happy with the result I got. In the end, I am confident in using the basics of blender but I do need to spend a little bit more time to really start getting used to it.
